Remembering the heroes of 26/11, Muslim Ekta Foundation, a group working for the welfare of the society conducted a blood donation camp at Vashi Railway Station on Tuesday, November 26. Navi Mumbai Mayor Sagar Naik, Dr Prashant Jawade, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) hospital, Vashi, Sangita Bansode blood bank in charge, NMMC were present at the event. Blood units were collected in the NMMC blood bank.
Abdul Habib Sarvaiye, a member of the foundation, said, “Every year we are conduct this event to remember the martyrs of 26/11. So, it is very necessary that we should remember the heroes and we should give information to our next generation about them. We have collected 121 bottles of blood and those have been submitted in NMMC’s blood bank. All caste of people donated their blood, which is a commendable act, indeed.
Last year, we had conducted blood donation in Mosque at Koperkhairane Sector 14. There were blood bank teams present and the total number of staffs was 25 and seven beds were available in total.
“This is such a relief to see so many people are putting so much of an effort to donate their blood. Mostly school students, college students and young working professionals have donated their blood. After witnessing such a sight, no one can say that we doubt on our feeling of brotherhood,”
